Former Golden West Player Makes AL All Star Team
Former Golden West Rustler Chris Devenski was recently named to the American League All Star Team. Chris played shortstop and was the teams #1 starting pitcher at Golden West during the 2009 and 2010 baseball seasons.
He is currently a relief pitcher for the first place Houston Astros and is one of the top relief pitchers in the Major Leagues. This year he has a record of 6-3 with and ERA of 2.73 while striking out 74 batters in 52.2 innings and only walking 14. Opposing hitters are only hitting .160 against him with a WHIP of 0.84.
In a recent text to Head Coach Bert Villarreal Chris said “ Thank you Bert I appreciate all you have helped me with!! This is for GW”. Chris went on to play at Cal state Fullerton in 2011 and signed professionally after that year.
